Senior Delivery Manager
Who are we?
Avenue3 is a Yorkshire-based digital consultancy specialising in open data, modern engineering and the transformation of complex systems across health, government and regulated sectors. We bring deep expertise across strategy, discovery, architecture and engineering, helping organisations modernise systems and adopt open data standards for long-term interoperability.
Our teams focus on high-quality delivery, using agile, collaborative ways of working that de-risk programmes and accelerate outcomes. Avenue3 offers a purpose-driven culture centred on impact, openness and meaningful problem-solving - giving engineers autonomy and influence over how we design and deliver solutions.
The opportunity
At Avenue3, we're looking for a Senior Agile Delivery Manager with a minimum of five years' experience, a strong background in defence or health environments, digital delivery experience, and a consulting, customer-focused mindset. Someone who can partner with clients to lead the end-to-end delivery of high-priority software development projects.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex client requirements and modern agile software engineering. You will be responsible for removing blockers, fostering a high-performing team culture, and ensuring the friction-free delivery of secure, impactful digital products.
You'll thrive delivering in environments where the problem and solutions are not always fully defined, using the skills of the team to iterate the delivery to meet the clients needs. Acting as a trusted partner to both business and technical stakeholders, you'll translate strategic intent into well-scoped, deliverable workstreams that align with user needs, policy context and engineering reality.
Alongside your delivery work, you'll play a key role in identifying opportunities to extend and deepen client engagements, spotting where additional value can be unlocked through better processes, tools or smarter use of data.
Core Responsibilities

Ability to translate complex technical roadmaps into clear operational updates.
Blocker Resolution & Team Facilitation
Protect the team from external distractions.
Facilitate agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).

Foster a culture of learning, psychological safety, and data-driven improvement, using delivery metrics to optimise team performance.
Collaboration & Client Engagement
Build trusted relationships with product owners, service owners, policy leads and operational stakeholders across client organisations.
Communicate plans, options and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
Commercial Awareness & Value Creation
Work with account teams to develop a strong understanding of client organisations, their goals and the broader commercial and policy context, enabling you to identify opportunities to add value beyond immediate project scope, and opportunities for follow-on work, extensions or new engagements.
Develop Opportunities
Contribute to proposals, statements of work and discovery outputs, shaping commercially viable and outcome-focused approaches.
Growth, Mentoring & Team Development
Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of curiosity, rigour and continuous improvement through your contribution to knowledge-sharing and communities of practice.
Benefits and culture
This role offers a competitive salary alongside a company pension and clear opportunities for ongoing growth.
We foster an inclusive, supportive culture where engineering excellence, personal development and innovation are valued - and where people are trusted to deliver meaningful impact in a collaborative, open environment.
